Short version: we collect what we need to build your website, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it any time. Here are the details.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
- Contact and intake info — your name, email address, bio, genre, press kit, links to your music, and any other info you send us when you buy or fill out the questionnaire.
- Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. We see your name, email, and that payment was received. We never see or store your card number.
- Site analytics — basic page-view and load-time data for our marketing site (musicianswebsites.com). No cross-site tracking, no ad retargeting.
- Email logs — a record of every email we send you (time, subject length, delivery status) for support and legal audit purposes.
3. Why we collect it
- Deliver your website — we need your intake info to build the site.
- Send you the questionnaire and previews — transactional emails tied to your order.
- Billing receipts — Stripe sends these automatically.
- Canadian tax compliance — we are required to keep financial records by law.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
4. How long we keep it
- Financial records (Stripe events, invoices, email audit log) — 7 years, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Intake data, generated content, account state — 2 years after your subscription ends or your project closes, then we purge.
5. Who we share it with (subprocessors)
We use a small set of trusted services. Each one only sees the data it needs to do its job.
- Twilio SendGrid (US) — sends and receives email on our behalf. Sees your email address, name, and message content. DPA + Standard Contractual Clauses in place via SendGrid Terms of Service.
- Stripe (US) — processes payments. Sees your email, name, payment instrument, and billing address. DPA + SCCs in place via Stripe Terms of Service.
- Cloudflare (global edge) — hosts your delivered site on your own Cloudflare Pages account and serves our marketing site. Sees public site content and DNS records — no personal information beyond IP addresses in access logs. DPA in place via Cloudflare Terms of Service.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic / Google AI (US) — language models used to generate your site copy. Sees bio text from your questionnaire. No payment data is ever shared. Per-vendor terms apply.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Toronto region) — our build server. Stores your intake and build files on disk in Canada. DPA in place via OCI Terms of Service.
New subprocessors require founder approval and an update to this page.
6. Your rights (PIPEDA + GDPR)
Email us at [email protected] to:
- Access — request a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correct — fix anything that is wrong.
- Delete — we will remove your intake, generated files, and state (financial records must be kept 7 years by law — we cannot delete those).
- Export (portability) — get your intake and generated content as a machine-readable export (JSON + zip).
We respond to requests within 30 days (PIPEDA and GDPR standard).
7. International transfers
Our servers are in Canada (Oracle Cloud, Toronto region). SendGrid and Stripe are US-based; your data may transit the United States when we send email or process payment. Standard Contractual Clauses are in place with both providers. If you need a copy of the GDPR Data Processing Agreement for either service, email us and we will provide the relevant links.
8. CASL (Canada Anti-Spam Law)
Every commercial email we send includes:
- Our name and mailing address (above).
- A one-click unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
Order confirmations, questionnaire delivery emails, and preview-ready notices are contractual (tied to your purchase) and are not marketing emails.
9. Cookies
Our marketing site uses minimal first-party cookies only (e.g., Cloudflare's edge cache tokens). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. You can disable cookies in your browser without losing any functionality on this site.
10. Updates to this policy
We update this page as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make a material change that affects your rights, we will email you about it.
