Design rationale

Drop Brutalist runs Helvetica Now or Inter in uppercase, tight-tracked, at 14px body against 96px+ display sizes, on a pure black-and-white base with a single signal accent — signal red `#ED1C24` or an orange `#FF3D00` — used only for the current drop or CTA. There is no decorative imagery: the product or release artwork carries the entire visual load.

Edge-to-edge layout, a slide-out cart pattern for merch (linking to your existing store), and an email-capture field in the masthead itself — the same masthead-first capture pattern used by the biggest drop-culture artist sites, scaled down to an indie build.

Who this fits

Artists closer to the drop-culture end of hip-hop — where merch and release-era identity are the primary conversion, and a stripped-down, high-contrast site reads as more credible than a decorated one.

Frequently asked questions

Does this style link to an existing merch store?

Yes — the product grid links to your existing Shopify/Bandcamp store; we don't build checkout from scratch.

Can email capture live in the masthead itself?

Yes — that's the default pattern for this style, matching the biggest drop-culture artist sites.

Is booking still accessible in this style?

Yes — unlike major-label sites, our template still surfaces a booking lane, just kept quiet relative to the drop/merch focus.
